Since the great earthquake, interest in realizing a smart society has dramatically increased. A smart society uses electronic information and communication technology to efficiently use energy, including electricity, creating an environment-friendly and sustainable society where people can live safely, securely, and comfortably. To realize this society, various technologies are necessary, including low-power LSI design, robust system design, cryptography, information and communication network technology, and sensing technology. Yanagisawa Laboratory conducts research related to ‘technologies supporting a smart society,’ from basic theory to practical applications, considering both hardware and software perspectives.
